This translation resource consists of three short texts on the topic of self and family and was originally designed for year 7 students. The texts are a mixture of French and English words and phrases – a tangled translation. Students start by highlighting all the English words in the text in one colour and all the French words in a different colour. They then copy out the text, translating the whole paragraph into just one language: French or English.
This is a fun way to improve translation skills and the instructions build in support and differentiation. Answers are included.
